At Moore College of Art & Design, the spaces that surround you are just as important as the major you choose and the work you create. Our campus is designed to inspire you, help you connect with other students and support your creative journey.
Here’s a look at the 10 spots that make Moore unique:
On Campus
Rittenhouse Hall

Just a seven-minute walk from campus, the newest of Moore’s three residence halls gives juniors and seniors a fully furnished, luxury-style apartment in Center City. Rittenhouse Hall keeps you close to campus while giving you easy access to Philly’s best food, parks and culture.
The VAULT (Visual Arts Underground for Learning Technologies)

The VAULT is Moore’s lower-level space that connects Wilson Hall and Sarah Peter Hall. It includes the Triangle Lounge, a fun area for hanging out with friends or collaborating on projects, and access to labs like the stop-motion studio and editing bays—ideal for Animation & Game Arts, Film & Digital Cinema and Entertainment Design students bringing their vision to life.
Straw Garden Terrace and Campus Courtyards

A newly updated outdoor space, the Straw Garden Terrace offers patio furniture, plants and a relaxing water feature. The terrace and Moore’s freshly renovated courtyards present picturesque spots to enjoy lunch, recharge or get a breath of fresh air.
Jane’s Corner

Next to the Dining Hall, Jane’s Corner is a cozy lounge with a fireplace, comfy seating and grad-and-go cafe serving Starbucks. You’ll want to head here to study, enjoy a snack or meet with friends between classes!
FabLab (Digital Fabrication Lab)

Moore’s FabLab helps you bridge traditional art with new technology. With tools like 3D printers and scanners, laser cutters and engravers, a CNC router, a ceramics decal printer and digital embroidery machines, it’s a collaborative studio for students across majors like Fine Arts, Interior Design, Illustration, Fashion Design, Graphic Design and Art Education.
Gaming Lounge

Our gaming lounge, also located in the VAULT, is designed for both work and play. Playtest your work and get feedback or just relax with your favorite game. It’s a go-to space for Animation & Game Arts students, Entertainment Design majors or any student looking for fun!
Margaret Minik Writers Studio

Inside Moore’s Connelly Library, the Margaret Minik Writers Studio offers help with all kinds of writing. Whether you’re crafting artist statements for your Fine Arts portfolio, a film analysis for Film & Digital Cinema or lesson plans for Art Education, the Margaret Minik Writers Studio helps you communicate your ideas clearly and confidently (an essential skill for your career).
Right Around the Corner
Parkway Museums District

Moore is the only college in Philadelphia that’s embedded in the city’s Parkway Museums District. Our campus puts you steps away from institutions like the newly rebranded Philadelphia Art Museum, the Barnes Foundation, The Franklin Institute and the new Calder Gardens. Living near these world-class museums means there’s always something new to see, including inspiration for your own projects.
Logan Circle and Local Parks

Logan Circle, across the street from Moore, brings you into view of City Hall, Swann Memorial Fountain, Aviator Park and Sister Cities Park and Cafe. Many Photography and Illustration majors use these scenic spots for shoots and sketching outdoors.
Free Library of Philadelphia

With more than 50 branches citywide—including the Parkway Central location right across from Moore—the Free Library of Philadelphia hosts a variety of events and gives you access to thousands of books, magazines and archives. The institution is an invaluable resource for conducting research and creating mood boards in Fashion Design, Interior Design, Graphic Design and beyond.
