Every year, Graphic Design seniors at Moore College of Art & Design create design concepts for the annual Senior Show. The show features final thesis collections from graduating students across all majors. One graphic designer’s work, inspired by Moore’s institutional brand, is chosen to represent the event each year.
For Kayla-Rose Driscoll ‘25, whose dynamic and playful concept was selected for the 2025 invitation, digital assets and signage, the experience provided an opportunity to explore a career path in brand design. After transferring from Delaware College of Art and Design in 2023, Driscoll immersed herself in Moore’s close-knit community, allowing her to build meaningful relationships, refine her creative voice and lay the groundwork for a successful career.
Moore’s 2025 Senior Show is on view in The Galleries at Moore from April 25–May 10. Read on to learn more about Kayla-Rose!
Why did you choose to come to Moore?
I attended Delaware College of Art and Design (DCAD) for two years where I earned my associate’s degree in graphic design. I was evaluating whether to continue my education, but I wanted to see if I could fit in and improve my work in a different, larger community. After a Moore admissions counselor came to DCAD and told us more about the College, I toured the campus with two friends, Fine Arts major Imani Dudley ‘25 and Photography major Colleen Griffith ‘25. We all thought we would do really well in Philadelphia and that we wanted to keep learning, so we came to Moore together.
How did it feel to have your design selected for the 2025 Senior Show promotional materials?
It was such an exciting, full-circle moment. I came to Moore and got to learn all about this community and how everyone interacts with each other, and that’s reflected in my design. Seeing the branding all over the school also showed me what I want to do with my career—I’d love to be an in-house art director, assessing a brand and its culture and creating a visual identity around it. When my design was chosen for the Senior Show materials, it was confirmation that this is something that I can do.
What was your inspiration for the design? What was your favorite part about developing it?
The Senior Show is one of the biggest things going on at Moore every year. Everybody looks forward to it. As we get closer and closer, there’s more buzz and excitement around it, and we all start to talk about it a lot more. It brings the school together, because, for a lot of us, it’s the first time we see finished, full-scale projects from students in other majors.
I wanted to capture that energy visually. I started with the overlapping chat bubbles, like the real conversations that are happening all at once around here, bumping into each other and building on that energy. I used Moore’s school colors in a layered way to show a sense of connection and community.
For the copy, I was just throwing something out there on a whim: “OMG, it’s Moore’s Senior Show!” I was really surprised when everyone loved it. I think it stuck because it felt real—it’s what we’re all thinking. My favorite part was creating the mock-ups for the design. I spent a lot of time crafting them so I could present my ideas in a polished way. Crafting brand guidelines, package design and print design are all things that I want to do. I feel that I have good craftmanship in that area, so I wanted to show that off.
What are your career plans after graduation? How did Moore prepare you for your goals?
I love branding and marketing design, especially when there’s a mix of print and digital. I want to work somewhere where I can really get to know a brand and help bring it to life in thoughtful and exciting ways. I currently have a paid design internship secured for the summer with Haymarket Media Group, and I’m also in talks to do some freelance work with creative agency WD Strategies.
The professional development opportunities in the Graphic Design major are amazing. I put together a polished portfolio, website and demo reel, and the faculty really brought home how important our professional networks are. They want us to be active in our communities and reach out to our connections.
What are some of your proudest accomplishments from your time at Moore?
Some of my proudest accomplishments are being chosen by faculty to attend the Adobe Creative Retreat. I was one of the Moore students selected to attend among 75 other Graphic Design students and recent graduates from the Philadelphia area. I was also able to do a lot of volunteering with Adobe through Moore, and I created a demo for the Adobe Creative Campus launch party.
In 2024, I also won second place and third place in Roosevelt Paper Company’s calendar contest!
What is your advice for current and future Moore students?
My advice would be to put in everything you have into what you’re doing here. When you come to Moore, you have an incredible opportunity that a lot of other people don’t have. Make the most of it, even if you’re leaving the studio at four in the morning every other day. Talk to as many people as you can and take charge of any opportunities that come your way.
