Award-winning Student Work in Competitions, Publications, and Exhibitions
Students in the Graphic Design program earned recognition for their creative work, with pieces showcased both locally and internationally.
Quinevere Gehman ‘25 and Kayla-Rose Driscoll ‘25 were awarded honorable mentions in the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) Philadelphia’s Locally Sourced Issue 03 student competition in December.
KC Corbi ‘26 was named a winner for graphic design in Issue 76 of Creative Quarterly, an international journal promoting the best work in graphic design, illustration, photography and fine art. Gehman's work also earned her a spot as runner-up in Issue 76, which launched in October.
Students also fortified their skills through design competitions and community exhibitions. Corbi produced the winning design in a logo contest for the Pennsylvania School Librarians Assocation annual conference, with the logo appearing on the event's website, booklet, and giveaways. Work by Sunny Crohe ‘25 was featured in the Center for DesignPhiladelphia’s exhibition honoring late graphic designer Alina Wheeler. Crohe was also awarded an honorable mention for AIGA’s Alina Wheeler Memorial Scholarship in May.
Students Attend "Life-Changing" Conferences

Outside of the classroom, students in the Graphic Design program found inspiration at conferences across the country. Gehman, Driscoll, Corbi, Jenn Nguyen ‘25, Simone Gray ‘25, Morgan Riley ‘26 and Madison Quinones ‘26 were nominated by educators to attend the three-day Adobe Creative Retreat in Philadelphia. Quinones described the conference as a “life-changing” opportunity to meet industry leaders, gain new insights, and connect with graphic design students.
Quinones and Holly Lanzaron ‘26, the 2024 winners of the Tiffany and Co. Leadership Fellowship, used award funds to attend Circles Conference, a creative design and film convention, in Grapevine, Texas, alongside Corbi.
Students Gain Hands-on Experience Through Internships and Fellowships
Graphic Design students are also building strong foundations for success with the real-world skills and professional networks they need to excel.
Quinones is currently interning with faculty member Tara O’Brien, who works as the director of preservation and conservation services at the Historical Society of Pennsylvania. In this role, Quinones assists in preserving, cataloguing and repairing historical documents, maps, and books. Karlee Rogers ‘26 had the opportunity to work at the same institution for an internship in summer 2024, gaining valuable experience in the field of historical conservation.
Meanwhile, Driscoll’s required internship at Spirit Halloween led to an offer for a part-time position, allowing her to showcase her creativity and expertise while gaining more experience in the industry.
