PHILADELPHIA (April 2, 2025)—Moore College of Art & Design is proud to present Art for Food, a dynamic student exhibition and print sale designed to support Philabundance, a nonprofit food bank working to end hunger in the Philadelphia region. On view in The Galleries at Moore from March 29–April 12, 2025, the show features more than 75 original works created by students in the Graphic Design and Illustration departments.
Each student artist created a food-themed piece, ranging from sizzling burgers and vibrant vegetables to iconic food packaging and beverages. Their work has been printed as three archival digital prints per submission, which will be available for purchase at $20 each. All proceeds from these print sales will benefit Philabundance.
“Art for Food is a powerful example of the way our students use their creative skills not only to make beautiful work, but to make a difference,” said Claudine Thomas, chief academic officer, Moore College of Art & Design. “This project encourages students to think about their work as a tool for good—something that can nourish our communities, inspire action and bring attention to real-world issues like food insecurity.”
A reception and sale will be held on Wednesday, April 9, from 5:30–7:30 pm in the Widener Gallery at Moore. Visitors are invited to meet student artists, explore the exhibition and purchase artwork that helps make a difference in the local community. Food donations will also be accepted at the event.
“At Philabundance, we believe that fighting good insecurity requires collaboration, creativity and community engagement. The Art for Food exhibition beautifully reflects these values by using art to spark awareness and drive meaningful change,” said Loree D. Jones Brown, chief executive officer, Philabundance. “We are grateful to Moore College of Art & Design and its talented students for using their skills to support our mission of ending hunger in the Philadelphia region. Every print sold will help provide food for individuals and families in need, making a real impact through the power of art.”
The exhibition is free and open to the public. For more details or to preview artists and available works, click here.
