Art Education Major
Spark curiosity in the classroom, engage with leaders in education and prepare to shape the next generation of creators.
Moore’s Art Education program provides you with the foundation to create powerful learning experiences that guide young artists in their creative journeys. You’ll build a strong studio foundation tailored to your artistic interests while learning to translate creative processes into engaging instruction. By the time you reach upper-level courses, you’ll be ready to plan lessons, develop curricula and bring your voice into your teaching practice.
You’ll apply what you learn in the field through early teaching experiences and a student teaching placement during your senior year. You’ll work with real students, collaborate with award-winning teachers and make professional connections throughout Philadelphia and beyond. Plus, you can benefit from conversations with visiting educators, advanced maker spaces and scholarships for our Art Education MA 4+1 program to help you further your skill set.

IN OUR OWN WORDS
![]()
“Moore drew me in because of all the experience I would get before my student teaching placement. It definitely prepared me for hands-on classroom experiences like lesson planning and connecting with students. I know that when I go into my first year of teaching, I’ll have support from the people who helped me along the way.”
