For 178 years, Moore College of Art & Design has believed that creativity demands courage. That belief has shaped generations of artists, designers and creative leaders who have found their voices at Moore and gone on to build meaningful lives and careers through art and design.

As an art educator, you play an important role in helping young artists imagine what is possible. We hope you’ll encourage students who are serious about their creativity and their future to take a closer look at Moore. Here are some ways you can engage.

SAER: An Invitation for You

Immerse yourself in a transformative experience during our annual Summer Artist Educator Residency (SAER) program! Join a vibrant community of art educators from all over the country for a weeklong residency centered around in-person art-making, critiques, and professional growth.

SAER offers dedicated studio space, hands-on workshops, and 3 graduate credits or 40+ hours of professional development—designed specifically for creative educators. This immersive experience empowers you to reconnect with your studio practice, build lasting peer networks, and return to the classroom inspired, refreshed, and recharged.

BFA Students + Scholarships + Financial Aid

Our application portal opens every year on August 1 and we accept completed applications through May 1—but we also work with students far later than that if they need more time. Below are some initiatives we have in place for the incoming class of 2027 that you can share with interested students.

Moore’s undergraduate application is live at moore.edu/apply and available via the Common App. All of our students receive some form of financial aid and affordability is an important part of the conversation.

Waive the application fee!

If you have students who are interested in applying, send them to moore.edu/apply and they can use “MOORE” when prompted for the fee waiver code and save $60. If they prefer to apply using the Common App, email admissions@moore.edu and we can enter their names manually to waive the fee.

Visit. Enroll. Earn $2,000.

Students who come to any on-campus event or schedule an appointment to meet with an admissions counselor are eligible to earn a $2,000 Visit Grant towards their future when they enroll.

Visits should be completed between June 1, 2026 and August 1, 2027—awards will be added to the student’s scholarship package once they enroll at Moore.

Moore’s Artist-in-Residence Program

This year we’re introducing Moore’s Artist-in-Residence program, an on-campus housing grant provided to students with financial need who also meet certain academic criteria. This unique opportunity brings residential life together with a professional gallery experience to enrich artistic exploration in their first year. Award amount is determined upon completion of the FAFSA.

Merit-Based Scholarships

Moore offers a wide range of scholarships that are awarded based on academic + artistic achievement and do not need to be repaid. Incoming BFA student merit scholarships are automatically considered as part of the admissions process—we do the work for you!

  • Visionary Honors Program. A grand total of $100,000 over four years: $25,000 to renew annually while you meet a minimum GPA.
  • Innovator. Up to $19,000 awarded annually to a limited number of students who demonstrate exceptional academic + artistic ability.
  • Creator. Up to $17,000 awarded annually.
  • Maker. Up to $15,000 awarded annually.
  • Transfer. Between $12,000–$20,000 awarded annually to eligible transfer students.
  • SADI. $3,000 awarded annually to students who complete our Summer Art and Design Institute program.

Best of Philly: Youth Program Scholarships

Since 1921, Moore has been teaching year-round youth art classes via our Young Artists Workshop (YAW) program—and it just won Philadelphia Magazine’s Best of Philly 2026! We host Saturday classes that engage students in grades 6–12 in a broad range of disciplines including ceramics, character design, comics, creative writing, drawing, fashion, filmmaking, immersive experience design, interior design, painting, photography, and more.

We offer you, as teachers, an opportunity to nominate students for full or partial scholarships! If you have rising 9th–12th graders who demonstrate exceptional creativity and/or artistic promise, we want them in YAW.

BFA Admissions Policy

Moore College of Art and Design offers a college experience which provides immersive education in visual arts and design. Undergraduate admission is open to qualified applicants of all genders.

Moore’s Boards of Trustees and Managers voted to open undergraduate enrollment to all students, planned to be in effect for the 2027/2028 academic year. We plan for all approvals to be received later this year. We will update this webpage when those approvals have been received.
