Dear Moore students, faculty and staff:
We are looking forward to welcoming all of you back to campus in the coming week! I want to extend my thanks to faculty and staff who have collaborated and worked diligently thus far to ensure a smooth start to the spring 2022 semester.
To ensure the safest return to campus possible, we are updating our masking requirements in addition to other recently revised health and safety guidelines. Masking remains an important aspect of our ongoing strategy to minimize transmission of COVID-19 on the Moore campus, especially in lieu of the virulent Omicron variant.
All Moore students, faculty and staff will be required to double mask while on campus, with a surgical/disposable mask covered by a cloth mask OR to wear an N95/KN95 mask. This requirement is applicable to all members of the Moore community, regardless of vaccination status, and also applies to all campus visitors.
Due to the short notice of this requirement, the College will provide an initial supply of surgical masks to all students, and to any faculty or staff who require one. Residential students can expect to receive their surgical masks this weekend, and commuter students will be able to procure masks from the front security desk when in-person classes resume on January 24.
Surgical/disposable masks are widely available at drugstores, supermarkets and beyond, for those who need to procure additional supply. Cloth masks, as well as N95/KN95 masks are sold at a variety of online and in-store retail outlets.
We are hopeful that things will improve as the semester continues, and we appreciate your continued dedication to health and safety on our campus. Best wishes for a safe and productive start to the spring 2022 semester.
With gratitude,
Cecelia Fitzgibbon
