Moore College of Art & Design is proud to announce that Art Education student Jada Lamboy '27 was accepted into the Society of Illustrators Student Scholarship Competition for 2024.
The Society of Illustrators Student Scholarship Competition is one of the most highly regarded opportunities for emerging illustrators, showcasing the exceptional work of students from top art and design programs in the United States and Canada. Lamboy's submission, a self-portrait guided by Assistant Professor of Illustration Chris Williams, was one of 300 works chosen from 7,300 entries.
Lamboy, who created Self-Portrait for her Advanced Drawing Studio final, says the piece took more than 40 hours to complete over the course of a month.
"I'm honored to have been considered for a place in the Society of Illustrators Student Competition. This may be one of my greatest accomplishments so far, and I'm very excited to be able to have this experience and opportunity," she said. "I wanted to make a piece that represented how I find comfort while experiencing life in college."
The competition’s winners will have their work featured in the Student Scholarship Exhibit at the National Museum of American Illustration and in an online exhibition hosted by the Society of Illustrators. Congratulations Jada!
