Members of Philadelphia’s creative community and prospective employers gathered in The Galleries at Moore Wednesday, April 24, for the opening reception of Senior Show 2019, a celebration of the talent of this year's graduating class.

Just prior to the show opening, awards were bestowed in Graham Auditorium. The Locks Career Center presented $8,500 in prizes and in-kind awards to students.

"You will shine because you are ready: you have benefitted from the inspiration and guidance of your professors, you have taken your creativity to the next level through discipline and determination," Moore President Cecelia Fitzgibbon told the seniors.

Fitzgibbon welcomed special guests who have supported Moore and its students through their commitment and generosity, including Joan N. Stern, Esq., a member of the Board of Trustees; Advertising Specialty Institute, represented by Jake Krolick, creative director, and Steve Oswald, art director; BLICK Art Materials, represented by the team from the Chestnut Street Store—Assistant General Manager and alumna Kadee Stevens, and Rob Berry, outreach coordinator, and visiting from Chicago, Jane Marzano, district sales and outreach manager.

Fitzgibbon also thanked Apartment Investment and Management Co. (Aimco), represented by Leila Sturzenegger and Scott Seeley; and Paco Rodriguez and Sage Dining Services; the Philadelphia Brewing Co.; and the Philadelphia Watercolor Society, represented by President Radhika Srinivas and Treasurer Cheryl Coniglio.

Fitzgibbon also acknowledged the continuing generosity of Dr. Symme L. Leiter, who has supported the Senior Show for over a decade, and generous awards that have come from several alumnae: Carol Elia '88 of CR Design; Debra Stack '92 of Stack Creative Agency; and Angela Murdoch '10, who sent greetings from Melbourne, Australia.

A very special thank you was made to the Department of Liberal Arts, the Art Education faculty, students and alumni, and the friends and family of Deborah Deery, as well as Richard Harrington and Joe Kulka, the Illustration colleagues of Bill Brown, for important awards that honor the memories of these former faculty members.
