PHILADELPHIA (March 4, 2026)—Moore College of Art & Design (“Moore”), Philadelphia’s only independent art and design school, will now house the archives of independent arts outlet Artblog. The College took steps to acquire the archives following the publication’s closure in June 2025 and prior to the unexpected death in November of Artblog cofounder Roberta Fallon, whose work shaped discourse around contemporary art in Philadelphia for more than two decades.
In response to Fallon’s passing, the College will host a public memorial service to honor her memory on Saturday, March 7 from 2 to 4 pm in The Galleries at Moore. Members of the arts community, friends and family are invited to reflect on the cultural connections Fallon helped foster. Moore has also established the Roberta Fallon Endowed Scholarship to provide ongoing support for emerging artists at Moore while recognizing Fallon’s lasting influence as a writer, artist, educator and mentor.
Moore’s acquisition of the Artblog archives will make decades of exhibition coverage, art criticism and cultural dialogue accessible to students, researchers and the public. Fallon and fellow artist Libby Rosof cofounded the publication in 2003, championing artists across disciplines and backgrounds. Artblog documented more than 22 years of artistic projects and cultural milestones, highlighting emerging and underrepresented voices across Philadelphia’s broad visual and performing arts scene. Moore previously honored the contributions that Fallon and Rosof made to the arts by awarding each of them an honorary doctorate.
“Roberta Fallon was a tireless and innovative figure in Philadelphia’s creative community. The publication she cofounded was more than a record of artistic pursuits in the city—it was a mirror of our community, full of curiosity, debate and discovery about Philadelphia’s creative life,” said Gabrielle Lavin Suzenski, Vice President of Creative Strategy & Rochelle F. Levy Director/Chief Curator at Moore. “Moore is proud to be uniquely positioned to safeguard this legacy and champion Philadelphia’s vibrant arts heritage for generations to come."

Housed in Moore’s Connelly Library, the Artblog archives will provide a historic and valuable resource for the next generation of artists, designers, scholars and community members. By providing a home for these materials, Moore builds on an ongoing commitment to safeguarding Philadelphia’s arts and culture landscape. In this vein, the College recently took on roles as the custodian of University of the Arts transcripts and a teach-out partner for displaced UArts students.
The Roberta Fallon Endowed Scholarship was made possible through a $100,000 gift from Fallon’s husband, Steven Kimbrough. The endowed fund will support Moore students, extending the impact of Fallon’s legacy and reflecting her lifelong commitment to artists and arts education.
Those who wish to honor Fallon’s memory may make gifts to Moore College of Art & Design, either online at moore.edu/give or by check, with a memo line noting “In Memory of Roberta Fallon.”
