Moore College of Art & Design’s newest residence, Rittenhouse Hall, was recently front and center of a back-to-school feature in The Philadelphia Inquirer, emphasizing the new space’s role in helping students live, learn and grow in the heart of the city. Just a short walk from Moore’s campus, the building increases Moore’s housing capacity by 33 percent and makes it possible to guarantee four years of housing for all students.
President Cathy Young shared how the new hall will strengthen student life, noting that students who live on campus retain and graduate at higher rates, while also developing a stronger sense of engagement and belonging.
“It really gives our students the chance to live in one of the most vibrant, wonderful parts of Philly and just immerse themselves in the city,” she said.
Rittenhouse Hall, located at 1831 Chestnut Street, has 93 beds and was purchased by Moore last spring. The building will be priced like the College’s other residence halls, and housing grants will be available for students who qualify.
The Inquirer also spotlighted Moore’s new Entertainment Design major in partnership with The Franklin Institute. The program prepares students to create immersive experiences for museum exhibitions, theme parks, concert venues and more.
