Moore Students Make Waves at Philly Fashion Week
Two Fashion Design students, Erin Partlow ‘25 and Eva Martinez ‘25, participated in Philly Fashion Week at the end of September. Martinez took home Best in Show at the Evolution Runway Show, in which eight student designers from Philadelphia-area universities competed for a $1,000 prize and educational sessions with industry professionals.
Partlow was featured in an NBC10 Philadelphia segment showcasing her designs in preparation for Philly Fashion Week.
Emmy-Nominated Alumna
Kristen Ernst-Brown ‘08 was recently nominated for an Emmy Award in the “Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes” category for her work as an assistant costume designer on the Disney+ show Loki. She previously designed costumes for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, No Time to Die and Venom: The Last Dance.
New Walentas Fellow
Moore is proud to welcome fashion designer and fine artist Jakia March ‘08 as the 2024 Jane and David Walentas Endowed Faculty Fellow. March is a graduate of Moore’s Fashion Design program and founder of Ingram Talley Design Studio in Los Angeles, California.
Jakia brings years of industry experience to her residency. After graduating from Moore, March showcased a capsule collection at New York Fashion Week, founded her own design studio, and collaborated with brands like Laquan Smith, A.L.C. and Rachel Roy.
Throughout her year-long fellowship, March will teach and engage students through workshops, field trips, creative research, and experimentation. She will also present a public exhibition at The Galleries at Moore in Spring 2025 and participate in Moore’s 2025 Fashion Show in May.
FGI Communiqué Comes to Moore
Moore will host Fashion Group International’s Communiqué: Global Fashion Report on Thursday, November 21 from 6-8 pm. The annual event highlights the most significant style trends from global Fashion Weeks and brings a panel of experts together to discuss industry-specific topics. This year’s theme is “From Passion to Profit: Developing an Online Presence.” Learn more about this event and get your tickets here.
