Moore College of Art & Design’s Director and Associate Professor of Art Education Lauren Stichter was recently recognized with the National Art Education Association (NAEA) Eastern Region Art Educator of the Year award. The award highlights Stichter’s commitment to creative and inclusive learning at Moore and in the broader arts community.
NAEA awards are determined through a peer review of nominations, recognizing the contributions, service and achievements of NAEA members each year. As the winner of the Pennsylvania Art Education Association (PAEA) 2024 Outstanding Art Educator of the Year Award, Stichter was then nominated for NAEA’s Art Educator of the Year Award. Stichter also won the 2024 PAEA Art in Special Education Award and the 2024 Council for Exceptional Children, Division of the Arts Art Educator of the Year Award.
Stichter said the award speaks volumes about the community she continues to build at Moore.
“I am deeply honored to receive the NAEA Eastern Region Art Educator of the Year Award. This recognition reflects the incredible support and collaboration I experience at Moore, where students and colleagues continually inspire me to grow as an educator and artist,” Stichter said. “It’s a privilege to be part of a community that values creative exploration and equitable learning.”
