Moore College of Art & Design is proud to announce that award-winning author and illustrator Erin Entrada Kelly will deliver the keynote address at the College’s 176th Commencement on Saturday, May 10, 2025. The ceremony will take place at Marian Anderson Hall at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.

Kelly will also be awarded an honorary doctorate of fine arts degree at the ceremony in recognition of her contributions to the arts and children’s literature.

Kelly is the author of Hello, Universe and The First State of Being, both recipients of the Newbery Medal, and We Dream of Space, which earned a Newbery Honor. She is also a National Book Award finalist and a recipient of the Asian-Pacific American Librarians Association Award for Children’s Literature.

In addition to her work as an author, Kelly is the illustrator of the standalone middle grade book series Marisol Rainey and Felix Powell. She holds an MFA in creative writing from Rosemont College and teaches in the MFA program in writing for children and young adults at Hamline University.

The Moore community looks forward to welcoming Kelly and celebrating the achievements of the Class of 2025!
