The Legacy Society: Investing in the Future of Moore
A growing number of alumni and friends support Moore College of Art & Design through financial or estate planning becoming a part of The Legacy Society at Moore College of Art & Design. This process is known as “gift planning” or “planned giving” and the gifts are referred to as “planned gifts.”
Why join The Legacy Society?
Planned giving offers an opportunity for you to give back to a cause that means the most to you, regardless of your ability to give currently. For instance, by leaving a bequest in your will, YOU can ensure that Moore’s mission and work will continue into the future. Planned giving offers numerous tax benefits which helps both you and Moore to make the most of every single dollar. Through planned giving, Moore will be able to endure the fluctuations of current donations while protecting its ability to develop long-term plans.

Did you know that a planned gift helped the founding of Moore?
Private gifts, including bequests, have sustained the College since its inception. As early as 1848, forward-looking donors helped fund the first and only women’s college for art and design. In 1932, Joseph Moore contributed a $3 million endowment in memory of his parents. The endowment was used to found the Moore Institute of Art, Science and Industry when it merged with the Philadelphia School of Art & Design, now known as Moore College of Art & Design.
