The Distinguished Alumni Awards shine a spotlight on the exceptional professional achievements of Moore alumni who have excelled in their respective fields and demonstrated unwavering commitment to the community. This year, we honor Michelle Angela Ortiz '00 and Christina Gorman '92. You can read more about our honorees here.
In addition to the awards ceremony, we would like to invite you to experience the culmination of artistic talent in our Juried Alumni Biennial. Curated by Washington, DC-based graphic designer and calligrapher Ann Hawkins, this exhibition features works by 61 Moore alumni across various mediums, including paintings, drawings, photographs, sculptures, and garments.
Additionally, you won't want to miss the work of Jay Katelansky '13, which is now on view through September 28 in our Alumni Gallery. Central to Katelansky's practice is an exploration of text and literature, which underpins her creative process, whether overtly present or subtly woven into her works. Drawing inspiration from craft, sounds, and poetry, as well as everyday objects like billboards that reshape their environments, she is particularly drawn to the historical and contemporary impacts of disco on queer and Black communities.
