This Art Education conversation is hosted by faculty member Dr. Li Sumpter, in dialogue with up-and-coming art educator Kendyl Boyd '21, and Post-Baccalaureate alumni Libya Doman '13. Speakers will share reflections from the field as Black Art Educators, and offer space for participants to engage in conversations. Topics of discussion will include: Why does representation matter in the arts and education? What has changed for Black Art Educators in the last few decades, and what remains the same? What supports need to be in place to cultivate and sustain the success of Black Art Educators?

Event attendees will be eligible to receive one ACT 48 credit for Pennsylvania educators. Please note: this conversation will be recorded. Live attendance is required for ACT 48 credit.

This event is part of a series of Alumni Reunion celebrations. Non-Moore alumni are welcome to attend Black Art Educators: Critical Reflections from the Field, but alumni are encouraged to sign up for other reunion events on our website.
