Join us in The Galleries on Monday, March 13 from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm for an Art at Lunch with Interdisciplinary Associate Professor of Fashion, Foundation, Interior & Textile Design Heather Ujiie.
Ujiie will discuss two pieces created during her sabbatical, War & Peace in the Time of Covid and Polarity, as they relate to research, process and materials. War & Peace in the Time of Covid is an expansive panoramic landscape where COVID flowers pervade as an invasive species, and conveys a pivotal time in our shared history, where a devastating epidemic has brought the world into crisis. Ujiie will also discuss her crystal and fiber installation, Polarity, which speaks to the cycles of life and the female psyche.
