Scholarships to Attend SADI

REVIEW BEFORE APPLYING
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTSPlease prepare the following required materials before proceeding to the application below.
- Completed SADI 2025 Registration
- High school transcript (International students must also submit TOEFL scores)
- Letter of recommendation (teacher, counselor, or mentor)
- Letter of hardship (prompts below)
- Personal statement (prompts below)
- Portfolio: 5–7 artworks in any medium
Applicants must submit 5–7 original artworks in any medium that showcase artistic strengths, ideas, concepts, and technical ability. We recommend including 1-3 direct observational drawings.

What is Direct Observation? Drawing from real life—people, objects, or spaces around you. Drawings copied from photos, posters, or others' artwork are not considered observational.
Students must write a 500–750 word personal statement responding to the following prompts. The statement must be written by the applicant:
- Describe yourself.
- Who are you as an artist?
- Where do you see yourself in 3 years?
- Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Parents or guardians must write a 500–750 word letter of hardship responding to the following prompts. The letter of hardship must be written by the parent/guardian:

Financial Challenges: Explain any recent financial hardships, such as job loss, medical expenses, or other significant changes affecting your ability to afford the program.
- Family Circumstances: Provide context about unique family situations, such as supporting multiple dependents or single-income households, that impact your ability to pay for the program.

Limited Access to Resources: Highlight any barriers your student faces, such as a lack of access to quality art programs or materials in your community.
- Education Priorities: Describe why this program is essential for your student's artistic and academic growth and how financial support would make their participation possible.

Commitment to Their Future: Share how your student’s dedication to art and design aligns with their career aspirations and why this opportunity at Moore College of Art & Design is critical for their development.
Scholarships cover full tuition, half tuition, or one-third of tuition costs. Each year, one full scholarship and up to five partial scholarships are awarded.
No, travel to and from the program is not covered by this scholarship.
If you do not recieve a scholarship to attend SADI, there are many ways to fund your student’s experience and the Summer Art & Design Institute.
Flexible Spending Account: With a Dependent Care FSA, you use pre-tax dollars to pay qualified out-of-pocket dependent care expenses. For families that use Flexible Spending Accounts, your dependent may be eligible to use funds toward the expense of the Summer Art & Design Institute. Please contact your employer for more information about qualified expenses.
College Savings Account: Families may use a College Savings Account (529 Tap Account) to pay for the expense of the program. For more information, please contact your College Savings Account representative.
External Scholarships & Funding: Families may explore national and local college funding organizations and scholarship opportunities to cover the expense of the program. We recommend exploring:
