Meet the Faculty

Joe Kulka

FULL-TIME FACULTY | Chair of Communication Arts and associate professor of Illustration, Kulka is an award-winning children's book illustrator and author with over 20 books and 30 years of experience as a freelance illustrator. Most notably, he’s created illustrations and picture books for the USDA Forest Service, featuring national icons Smokey Bear and Woodsy Owl.

Richard Harrington

FULL-TIME FACULTY | Professor and professional illustrator for over 30 years, whose work ranges from humorous magazine and editorial cartoons to exacting instructional diagrams and product illustrations. He was elected to the Society of Illustrators in 1997 and is a member and current President of the Philadelphia Sketch Club.

Christopher Williams

FULL-TIME FACULTY | Assistant professor whose drawings, paintings and films have been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions, museums and galleries, as well as Showtime’s television series, The L Word: Generation Q.

Gina Altadonna

Widely exhibited artist who works in illustration, watercolor painting and printmaking, and recipient of several grants and awards, including the New Courtland artist fellowship and the Dorothy L. Piper Purchase Award.

Tegan Belitta

Moore Illustration alum, muralist and gallery artist who has worked with Whole Foods, Amazon, Patron Tequila, Mural Arts Philadelphia and many Philadelphia-area businesses.

Elaine Erne

Widely exhibited co-founder and co-director of Star Wheel Printers, a Philadelphia-based printmaking collaborative, and recipient of multiple artist fellowships for her works on paper and works in glass.

Theresa Fleming

Moore alum, graphic designer, illustrator and art director whose artwork has been featured in home décor, greeting cards, party supplies, stationery, toys and more, with products sold at major retail stores such as Walmart, Target, Michael’s, Spencer’s and many others.

Gary Phillips

Studio and plein-air painter with 30+ years of illustration experience, deeply committed to the process of seeing and working from life.

Isabelle Staub

Versatile illustrator and Moore alum who has worked with Marvel Entertainment, Dynamite Comics, MGA and Corel Painter and collaborated with brands such as CASETiFY, Wacom, Sakura and TikTok.

Ulana Zahajkewycz

Widely exhibited illustrator of the Chuckie the Dog children's book series, whose work has appeared with USA/SyFy Network, Runner's World, New York Free Press, Sothebys.com, American Illustration the New York Times, and many other websites and publications.
