A professional illustrator for over 30 years and a full-time freelancer since 1990, Richard Harrington's work has ranged from humorous magazine and editorial cartoons to exacting instructional diagrams and product illustrations. Elected to the Society of Illustrators in 1997, he is also a member and current president of the Philadelphia Sketch Club (PSC). At the PSC, he originated the annual show Phillustration in 2007, the only open-juried exhibition of illustration in the United States that hangs student work alongside the work of professionals. After a series of lectures about his illustration work to college students in the mid-1990s, Harrington began teaching as an adjunct illustration instructor at Syracuse University, and is now a professor in the Illustration program at Moore College of Art & Design.
