APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
All Graduate Programs
- Completed Application (Applications are considered on a space-available basis.)
- Director Interview
- Statement of Intent
- Two Letters of Recommendation from an employer, professor, or professional colleague
- Resume / CV
- All Official College Transcripts
- International Applicants only: English proficiency: TOEFL scores: 92 IBT (Internet-based test), 580 PBT (Paper-based test), 237 CBT (computer-based test) IELTS score of 6.5
- Portfolio (submitted via Slideroom or online gallery link) of recent artwork consisting of 10 to 15 images demonstrating the applicant’s studio practice, lesson planning, and/or student work (MA in Socially Engaged Art does not need to submit a portfolio.)
Program Specific Requirements
- BFA in Art Education with Certification (Exceptions will be made in some cases for those with a BA or BS in Art Education without certification with significant teaching experience, or a BFA not in Art Education with significant teaching experience).
- Portfolio (submitted via Slideroom or online gallery link) of recent artwork consisting of 10 to 15 images demonstrating the applicant’s studio practice, lesson planning, and/or student work
- Bachelor’s degree in the visual arts with a 3.0 minimum GPA. All transcripts will be evaluated by the Admissions Office to determine eligibility of previous coursework.
- Portfolio (submitted via Slideroom or online gallery link) of recent artwork consisting of 10 to 15 images demonstrating the applicant’s studio practice, lesson planning, and/or student work
- Bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited institution
- Expanded statement of intent that includes a proposal related to the type of inquiry and investigation in social engagement the candidate wishes to pursue
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in any discipline of studio, visual or fine arts, and have completed a minimum of 15 art history credits
- Expanded statement of intent that includes a proposal related to the type of inquiry and investigation in community practice the candidate wishes to pursue
- Portfolio (submitted via Slideroom or online gallery link) of recent artwork consisting of 15 to 20 images demonstrating a mature and focused body of work
