Artist Statement
Type in the News: An Exploration of Type Through The New York Times, is a project consisting of eight posters, each inspired by a different article from various sections of The New York Times including science, business, tech, art, health, etc. The process consisted of exploring the creation of type inspired by the article in both physical and digital form. Letterforms were created from various materials such as wood, clay, paper, embroidery, and digital manipulation in order to best represent my understanding of the story.
