Graphic Design

Design experiences that people will never forget.

MAYBE YOU'RE A VISUAL THINKER.

You geek out over unusual typography and book covers. When you download the newest app, you think, "I could do it better."

If any of the above sounds like you, Graphic Design might be your major.

Graphic Design is everywhere, defining how we consume digital and print media, which means that there are countless career opportunities waiting for you! You'll be prepared to pursue any path, thanks to a strong core curriculum taught by design experts that includes UX, web design and typography. You'll also get specialized skills through elective courses and meet industry legends through workshops and field trips.

Whether you're spending an afternoon with friends seeing what the FabLab's 3D printer can do, or attending a workshop with Google Creative Lab (yes, that Google), you'll want to take advantage of every exciting opportunity Moore's Graphic Design's program has to offer.

I was a finalist for internships with La Colombe, HelloFresh and Urban Outfitters. I chose one that was well paid and that would set me up for a job once I graduated. The world needs design and art. Moore understands that and helps to make your passion a profession.

MEET KARYN JIMENEZ-ELLIOTT '03

GRAPHIC DESIGN ALUMNI HERO

Karyn is an associate professor of graphic design at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI, whose latest project is The Gravity of Typography, a self-described "anti-textbook" for visual learners, brimming with useful content and inspiration for designers of all experience levels. Her career began at Moore--literally!--when she met her first employer at her Senior Show. She's developed curricula for courses like typography, brand identity and development, package design, and wayfinding and environmental graphics. "My project-based approach to teaching and one-on-one crits during studios stem directly from how I was taught at Moore," she says.

JUST YOUR TYPE

"Graphic design is inspiring because of how versatile it is. You can hone in on a practice that you enjoy, whether that is typography, branding, environmental design or UX design. It inspires me to keep evolving and to try new things. One of the most important aspects of my Moore experience has been the connections, and how they continue to impact me in the future."
