Maybe you’re a cinephile.

You're more interested in the making of a movie than the movie itself. You’ve mastered the art of editing TikToks and you need a new challenge.

If any of the above sounds like you, Film & Digital Cinema might be your major.

In an industry that needs more stories from women, nonbinary and trans creators, you’ll learn the technical and on-the-job skills you need to share your voice and make an impact. Your industry experience begins on the very first day of class, thanks to one-on-one instruction from knowledgeable faculty and access to state-of-the-art equipment and spaces, like our new film studio and editing bays.

PLUS: Once you're here, get a head start on your career, thanks to our new co-op experience, designed specifically for Film & Digital Cinema majors. This includes a paid field internship between your junior and senior years, AND a working apprenticeship during senior year—your first taste of real-world job experience!

MEET JANET BIGGS '81

AWARD-WINNING FILMMAKER AND MOORE ALUM

Film & Digital Cinema is Moore's newest major, but we're proud to have alumni who are excelling in this field. As an accomplished media artist, Janet has worked with everyone from champion wrestlers to speed-obsessed bikers, synchronized swimmers, sulfur miners inside an active volcano and even camel herders in the Taklamakan Desert. In 2018, she won a prestigious Guggenheim Fellowship for her work, and in 2022, Moore honored her at our annual Visionary Woman Awards. "Moore gave me a glimpse of a world where there were no societal barriers," she says. "It gave me the confidence to navigate the world and my work without reservation."
