Artist Statement

Hi there! Thank you for visiting my page. My name is Laura Hodes. I'm a senior in college and I attend Moore College of Art & Design. I live in Pennsylvania. I mostly work traditionally, colored pencils being some of my favorite media to work in. I also work in an unconventional medium called needle felting to create wool paintings. I loved the outdoors as a kid and that love continues to shine through my work about the natural world. For my thesis, I wanted to portray the elegance and beauty found in death, and the nobility of these species as they return to where they were once from.
