Artist Statement
How do we visualize music through art? Sweeping rhythms, bright tempos, complex harmonies and dynamic melodies are very translatable to elements in the art and design world. With so many different genres and varying styles of music, there is bound to be a plethora of artistic interpretations.
Visualizing Music: Experiments in Music and Design is a collection of vinyl albums that aims to explore various musical artists' songs through experimental image making. A collaborative Spotify was created, including artists from different genres, and 20 albums were created using various mediums such as photography, illustration, collage and much more. These vinyls were created with the intention of displaying a variety of designs based on music in order to convey how these two creative worlds intertwine.
