Artist Statement
Vampires don't have to be the same dark, gloomy character every time they're depicted. The idea behind my thesis was to take the undead, blood-sucking characters I love and create a space to display them together, as if they were pages from a field guide of vampires.
Creature media has always influenced my work; creature media being any movie, TV show, book or illustrated novel that revolves around mythological, fantastical or cryptic creatures. By organizing a visual collection where all of these vampires can exist side by side, I am creating an opportunity to demonstrate the differences between various members of the vampire race through digital illustration.
