Artist Statement
Pierucci became inspired to pursue fashion design after watching her mother design wedding gowns and prom dresses. Heavy Cross is inspired by her childhood, growing up in a Catholic household. Over time, she has taken a step back from her religion and now hopes to empower women who may feel repressed by the church. The collection features garments made with transparent fabrics, machine knitting, chain work and metal work.
