Artist Statement
I developed my senior thesis as a response to my Equivalent Alternative Experience, which itself was a response to my junior thesis. I decided to build a 3D environment for each of those projects, furthering my skills and knowledge of the craft with each iteration. My senior thesis, however, focuses exclusively on modeling, sculpting and texturing props and environment elements. I did not work on the concept this time, choosing instead to adapt and interpret another artist's concept art. This allowed me to create higher-quality props and show my ability to translate 2D concepts to 3D.
As I progressed from project to project, and with the help of my mentor, Jessica Kutrakun, I learned about professional practices and techniques, and developed my own visual language and workflow. I'm very excited to keep learning about 3D environments and props, and to find my place in the industry.
