Artist Statement

With my thesis work, I create animated gifs of digital systems and organisms traveling through a cybernetic world that runs parallel to our own. These animations are lively, shifting, and evolving as a proto-digital organism, a single-celled body that may crawl up onto land one day and sprout legs of its own. These handmade clay objects, digitized and introduced to spaces that have only ever existed as a computer file work to play along the boundary of human and machine. I conceive of an origin story for this new cyborg future.
