Maybe you’re a place maker.

You could spend hours wandering through IKEA's showroom. You fantasize about redesigning the layout and flow of your local coffee shop.

If any of the above sounds like you, Interior Design might be your major.

Interior Design is all about figuring out what makes the spaces where we live, eat, work and create function, and how they can be improved to live up to their fullest potential. You’ll become a creative, socially responsible interior designer and develop design skills that emphasize imagination and sustainability. You'll also learn how to work with clients and accommodate their needs while being imaginative and pushing boundaries.

Moore's Interior Design BFA program is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) and meets the educational requirement for eligibility to sit for the National Council for Interior Design Qualification Examination (NCIDQ Exam). You’ll be ready to jump into your career as soon as you toss your cap on graduation day!

I’ve known I wanted to be a designer ever since I was a little kid, drawing floor plans and perspectives. I always believed that I would one day have my very own business. I couldn't have asked for a better school and I truly believe that Moore was made for me.

MEET KIA WEATHERSPOON ’10

INTERIOR DESIGN ALUMNI HERO

In 2012, Kia started her own interior design firm, Determined by Design, which is dedicated to making interior design accessible to everyone, rather than a luxury. In 2022, the year she celebrated 10 years of her design firm, Kia was named the International Contemporary Furniture Fair's Designer of the Year, and she was featured in Oprah Daily’s Future Rising: A Celebration of Black Changemakers. “I know I had the perfect foundation, starting my design journey at Moore,” she reflects. She gives back to Moore as a member of our Board of Managers.

“Having professors that are from the industry is the number one thing. They can tell you what really happens out there. They’ve been doing it for years and they’re doing it right now. That adds incredible value because they not only teach you skills, but they bring experience from the field.”
