Artist Statement

An analysis of power dynamics in systematic environments told through spatial relations and self-ownership/access is the basis for the works explored in my thesis. My work is motivated by this established relationship and confronts the dynamic through occupying space. The approach to space occupation is through free-standing mobile walls and structures and can be seen from multiple points of view. The pieces often imply viewer interaction but are absent of the blunt permission to do so. Viewers that come in contact with the work will be confronted with their position in this dynamic that is being addressed.
