Grace Ong Yan on The Pritzker Prize Laureates
Friday, October 15th '10 10:00 pm – Saturday, October 16th '10 12:00 am

Center for Architecture
1218 Arch Street
5 - 7 pm Booksigning, Talk at 5:30 pm

Grace Ong Yan, Moore faculty in the Graduate Interior Design program, will be discussing her work as co-editor of ARCHITECT: The Work of the Pritzker Prize Laureates in Their Own Words (Blackdog & Levanthal Publishers, 2010), co-edited by Ruth Peltason. Grace Ong Yan is an architectural historian and architect who is also serving as the DesignPhiladelphia architect for The Design Lot, with King Sophaphone. This book is the first publication of what the recipients of the so-called “Nobel Prize for architecture” have said and written about their field. Unlike most writing on architecture, which is through the lens of critics, ARCHITECT looks through the other end of the telescope: from the architect’s point of view. These leading international architects represent widely divergent and rich viewpoints on architecture, which amount to a revealing and compelling look into how they think, work, and design.
