Daniel de Jesús presents new work utilizes imagery and animation inspired by the 1928 film The Passion of Joan of Arc by Director Carl Theodor Dreyer. The music that accompanies the video is an Artpop Requiem for Joan of Arc. It responds to the theme of her trial, passion, inner thoughts, repression, and search for divine conquest. The performance is accompanied by a String ensemble and projections of animated and video collages by the artist.

This event is FREE and open to the public and will take place in The Levy Gallery for the Arts in Philadelphia.

The musician & multi-media artist, Daniel de Jesús was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His art artwork and music are a fusion Baroque music and art, pop-culture and the history Puerto Rico and South America. De Jesús holds a bachelor’s degree in illustration from the University of the Arts. Since 2005 he has been in several solo and group exhibitions in the Mid Atlantic Region. De Jesús is also an accomplished cellist with eight studio recordings of his own music and performs with orchestras and rock bands in the region and around the world. His collaborations have included painter and performance artist David Antonio Cruz, singer songwriter Courtlyn Carr, and Rasputina.
