# Moore College of Art & Design

> **Moore College of Art & Design** – founded in 1848 – is the first and only historically women’s art and design college in the United States. Located in Philadelphia, Moore offers 10 bachelor’s (BFA) majors (and 15 minors) in art and design, plus co-educational graduate and continuing education programs. Renowned for its career-focused education, Moore guarantees a **$1,000 paid internship for every BFA student** and boasts a 97% employment or grad school placement rate within one year of graduation. - **History & Identity:** **Founded in 1848**, Moore pioneered women’s higher education in the arts. It remains the only historically all-women’s visual arts college in the nation, now expanded to welcome women, nonbinary and gender-nonconforming students. Moore’s mission is to foster creative excellence and career success, staying true to its legacy of inclusivity and innovation.  
- **Academic Programs:** **10 BFA majors** (Animation & Game Arts, Art Education, Fashion Design, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Illustration, Interior Design, Photography, etc.) with **7:1 student-faculty ratio** for personalized mentorship. **Graduate studies** include an MA in Art Education (with an emphasis in Inclusive Practices) and a Post-Baccalaureate Art Education certification.
