Please note: due to the summer 2018 renovations we will not be able respond to any Archives requests until the Library reopens in fall 2018.
The Archives contain valuable research materials illustrating significant historic milestones, as well as the development of individual artists associated with the school. The collections exemplify the strong teaching ethics expounded by the college through paintings, photographs, scrapbooks, institutional records, manuscripts, student journals and school publications. The Archives houses paintings from artists such as Alice Neel, Henry Snell and Emily Sartain.
Providing exemplary education for women in the arts is a mission of the college, which is reflected in the holdings of the Archives. The collections document the expansion of Moore from an important local institution to a national leader in women's art education.
