A Lived Thesis event presented by Emily Whynott MFA '23, Socially Engaged Studio Art.

From the artist:

I'd like to invite the students at Moore to take place in a wacky cupcake decorating event in the Paley Gallery. Personally, I have a difficult time viewing art on an empty stomach. I believe the best way to experience my thesis exhibition is by eating a cupcake at the same time.

I will provide a variety of cupcakes, frostings, and decorating materials. Attendees will be invited to decorate cupcakes that defy traditional baking conventions in every way. In prioritizing texture, color, and form over taste, these edible creations will be works of art in and of themselves.

I will offer a plethora of uncommon edible materials for the cupcake decorating process. What might an orange cupcake decorated with Sriracha and cheese-whiz look like? What if purple cabbage leaves are used with edible pink glitter?

My goal is to mix art-viewing with snacking, and to blur the lines between food and edible sculpture.

Registration for the event will become available 3 weeks before (March 23), and close on April 9. Through registration, students can list any dietary restrictions.
