Glitter cats, neon forest witches, and walking Peanut Chew Bars are all common characters for the Vaudevillains NYB—a loose collective of artists and activists that convene each year to participate in Philadelphia’s annual New Year’s Day Mummers Parade. Combining street performance with advocacy, the Vaudevillains use the parade as a platform to address civic issues from global warming to sanctuary cities.
For Bodyworks, the Vaudevillains will present a performance of past routines followed by a talk-back addressing their organization’s mission and history.
This event is part of the Bodyworks exhibition and is FREE and open to the public and will take place in The Levy Gallery for the Arts in Philadelphia.
