Eight Animation & Game Arts students from Instructor Stephen Wood’s Professional Practices class attended the inaugural Let’s Play PA Conference: Celebrating the Craft of Video Game Development in Pennsylvania on October 2, 2015 at Harrisburg University of Society and Technology. The free conference on video game development showcased the talent that Pennsylvania has to offer in terms of game developers and educational programs. Moore students showcased their work and handed out business cards. They also attended panels that covered topics like “Psychology of Game Design” and “Funding Sources for Games.” The conference was an opportunity for students to get out in the field and network with professionals in preparation for their professional internships next summer. “I would love to bridge the gender gap in the gaming industry,” said Alexa Kontzamanys, a junior IMA student. “We need more of a female voice and we have the opportunity to do that through this major.”
