Textile Design

I currently run my own graphic design firm, Silver Hollow Creative where my largest client is Robert Kaufman Fabrics. I take care of all branding and graphic design and trade show visual merchandising and display for them.

I loved the small classes and individualized attention from the instructors at Moore. My professors were top notch and of course living in Philadelphia, an accessible city that is friendly to artists was tremendous. I think an all women's college kept me feeling inspired and empowered by all the smart, creative women working around me.
I took on more than one internship during my time at Moore. One was retouching images of  digital artwork in photoshop pixel by pixel..for hours! It was hard, tedious work and I never complained. I learned to focus and do a great job at something very simple and quite frankly, boring. Eventually the firm offered me additional work that was more stimulating as well as an offer for another internship the following summer. My experience probably taught me that sometimes you just have to suck it up and work hard, don't let your ego get in the way of doing a good job at something YOU might feel is beneath you. Sometimes you have to start out in the "mail room", and that's OK!
I would advise current students to utilize Philadelpha!! Get out of your dorm room and explore! Pick your professors brains about their experience as artists and designers any chance you get, enter to win travel scholarships, work hard and cherish your fellow Moore girls!
