The Commencement Ceremony is approximately 2 hours in length.
Senior Show Closing Reception
Friday, May 12
3pm—6pm: This is an opportunity for students to show their work to family and friends the day before Commencement. Refreshments will be available.
Questions on the day of the event can be answered at the Information Desk in Moore's main lobby.
Each Senior will be allotted four tickets for the Commencement ceremony, specifically for seats under the tent. Students will receive their tickets either several weeks prior to or during the Commencement Rehearsal in the Great Hall on Thursday, May 11. If there are seniors who will not use all allotted tickets, we ask that they return unused tickets to the lottery so that they may be redistributed.
Tickets are required for all guests 2 years old and older. Children under the age of 2 are expected to sit on the lap of a parent or guardian.
Lost or stolen tickets will not be replaced. No additional tickets will be available.

Seating is on a first-come first-served basis starting at 10:30am. Please note that this is an outdoor event that will be held rain or shine. No strollers, carriages, carriers or any other equipment for transporting babies will be allowed under the tent. This is a safety issue.
Seating for Persons with Disabilities
For both the Fashion Show and Commencement seating for guests in wheelchairs or with other physical restrictions will be available in a reserved section with flooring under the tent. Due to limited space, the reserved seating area is restricted to the person with the disability and one guest. Any additional members of your party should sit in the general seating area. The corner of 20th St. and Race St. has a wheel-chair accessible ramp and the east side of the 1900 block of 20th Street (across from the Franklin Institute) is a designated a drop-off area for Commencement. Please arrive a minimum of 30 minutes prior to the start of event to be seated by college staff.
Graduates requiring seating for guests with disabilities should indicate to Student Services staff at Commencement Rehearsal on Wednesday, May 11, 2015, and will also have to give the names of the guests requiring special seating prior to the event. Note: The total number of tickets, including guests with disabilities, will not exceed the limited number of tickets total.
Commencement Ceremony Protocol
Commencement is a celebration of our students’ accomplishments; it is also a formal academic event.
We ask that guests remain in their seats for the duration of the procession and recession and refrain from blocking aisles and passageways by attempting to greet or take photos of graduates. Cellular phones must be silenced during the ceremony to ensure that all guests can hear and enjoy the Commencement activities. After the ceremony is over, we ask that you allow the faculty & board to exit and the seniors to follow, and then you may exit after them to meet outside of the tent. We suggest you designate a meeting spot away from the tent in advance to lessen the confusion and allow everyone to exit the tent.
At the ceremony, a professional photographer will be taking photos to capture this special day. We ask that you refrain taking photos from anywhere other than your seat in order to avoid obstructing the view of others. Each graduate will be professionally photographed as they receive their diploma on stage. The prints will be available after the ceremony for purchase through our photographer’s website 4-6 weeks after each event.
There are no parking facilities at the College, but the College has made special arrangements for discount parking on Saturday, May 13 at The Kennedy House. Please visit the information table in Wilson Lobby at Moore to pick up your discount parking coupon. Discounted parking at The Kennedy House will be $7.00.
The Kennedy House is located at 1901 JFK Boulevard and the entrance to the garage is on 19th Street between Arch St and JFK Blvd. When going south on 19th Street from Moore College, 19th Street will intersect Arch Street and then halfway up the block on the right you will make a right into the parking garage. (The GPS address for the garage is 54 North 19th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103)

The 1900 block of Race Street will be closed to car traffic on Sunday from 7am to 5pm. Metered parking will not be available on the east side of the 1900 block of 20th Street all day Saturday, May 13.

The east side of the 1900 block of 20th Street (across from the Franklin Institute) is a designated a drop-off area for commencement.

* Students may take their work on Saturday after Commencement, until 3pm; Monday, May 15, and Tuesday, May 16, from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm. All work must be removed by Tuesday, May 23, by 5 pm. Any artworks left in The Galleries will be destroyed.
In order to promote the health of employees, students and guests, Moore College of Art & Design prohibits smoking in any and all of its buildings. Smokers are required to smoke only in the designated smoking areas and to extinguish all cigarette butts in the provided containers.
Restrooms are available for guests inside the College of the first floor of Wilson Hall and adjacent to The Galleries.
