AT MOORE, OUR GOAL IS TO CREATE INSPIRING ARTISTS, AND INSPIRING LEADERS.
Student Services prepares students for lifelong learning and leadership in the arts by strengthening their leadership skills in and out of the classroom.
Student Services works with other staff, faculty, outside facilitators and local women leaders in the arts to train our student leaders, build their confidence and teach teamwork and follow-through. It is important to help students develop their ability to take risks, effect change and make ethical decisions.
LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE FOR WOMEN
The Leadership Conference for Women in the Arts takes place annually in the Fall. The conference explores current topics related to college women who are, or who are interested in being, leaders in art and design fields. Click here for more information
THERE ARE SEVERAL CAMPUS LEADERSHIP ORGANIZATIONS INCLUDING:
STUDENT ENGAGEMENT COMMITTEE
The Student Engagement Committee (SEC) is a group of student leaders who not only engage with and provide support for the new students as they make the transition into the Moore Community, but who also facilitate various programming opportunities for the student body throughout the year. Subcommittees are formed that facilitate events either off campus, on campus or related to community service. Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors with a GPA of 2.5 are eligible to hold a position on SEC and can apply during Spring Semester. Students interested in SEC should contact Slade Roff (email@example.com) in Student Services.
RESIDENCE LIFE STAFF
Residence Life staff assists in both the personal and operational aspects of managing the residence halls.
In addition to the skills that all leaders receive in training, the Residence Life Staff learns interpersonal helping skills, such as conflict resolution, mediation, crisis interventions; and operational procedures related to maintenance and security. They work with staff in Student Services to provide social and educational programming for the students living in the residence halls.
Sophomores, juniors and seniors hold these positions. Students interested in joining residence life staff should speak with Matt Point (firstname.lastname@example.org) in Student Services. The residence life search process starts in late January.
