Congratulations on your acceptance!
Update, April 23, 2020:
Due to the evolving circumstances around the COVID-19 public health epidemic, Moore College of Art & Design staff and faculty have monitored the situation closely with regards to all summer academic programs. This includes the Master of Arts in Art Education with an Emphasis in Special Populations summer term, which marks the start of the 2020–2021 academic year for students enrolled in this program.
Due to the uncertain timing of a return to daily life and to college campuses around the country, we will continue to prioritize the health and safety of our students, faculty and staff above all else. For the time being, this means finding alternative methods for academic instruction until future guidelines dictate otherwise.
As a result, our summer 2020 MA in Art Education classes will shift to a virtual/online format for both continuing and new graduate students and will begin as scheduled, with Orientation on Monday, June 22 and the first day of classes on Tuesday, June 23.
As continuing students know, in accordance with guidelines from the CDC and the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Moore shifted to remote and virtual learning for the remainder of the undergraduate and graduate 2019–2020 academic year, beginning on March 23, after a week of training for faculty. Art Education faculty members have helped lead the way in preparing their colleagues for remote instruction during this time, having had years of experience with the format, and will bring their expertise to the coming summer term.
It is important to note that this shift is temporary and that Moore’s MA in Art Education summer term will take place on Moore’s campus in 2021. We encourage those still thinking about joining us this June to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org in order to discuss how we can help you find your place in this one-of-a-kind Art Education program. We know this remote term will be as engaging and academically rigorous as always and will uniquely situate students to thrive in online learning environments for special populations.
For those who are graduating from the program this summer, the 2020 MA in Art Education Commencement will still take place on Friday, August 7. We will monitor public health guidelines and developments over the next few months and will be in touch with any necessary updates about logistics for this event.
We will continue to send updates over the next few weeks with follow-up information regarding courses and additional summer term plans. We look forward to seeing you online on June 22!
