Documentation from In/Out 2016 Summer Symposium 

From July 22-24, 2016 Moore's Social & Studio Practices department and Mural Arts Philadelphia co-hosted our second annual summer symposium "In/Out: Ethics, Attention and Intention in Socially-Engaged Art." 

Participants included: A Long Walk Home’s Girl/Friends, Erika Almiron, Eastern State Penitentiary, Jane Ursula Harris, Marline Johnson, Sean Kelley, Robin Wall Kimmerer, Louise Pilar Martorano, Michelle Angela Ortiz, Patricia Phillips, Michael Rakowitz, Anthony Romero, Lucia Sanroman, Southeast by Southeast, Southwest Roots: Bartram’s Garden and Mural Arts, Nato Thompson, Salamishah Tillet, Scheherazade Tillet, Jonathan Wallis, Dan S. Wang, West Philadelphia with Philadelphia LISC (including Spiral Q, Tiny WPA and PEC CDC), Risë Wilson, Marion Wilson, and more. 

In/Out was co-organized by Paul M. Farber (Haverford College/Mural Arts) and Daniel Tucker (Moore) and support for the event was been provided by the Ford Foundation, Hemera Foundation and The Knight Foundation Donor-Advised Fund of The Philadelphia Foundation.
