Update on LTP at Moore

Over the last few months we have been staying up-to-date on the impending changes to the School District of Philadelphia and its impact on the classes and daily lives of students and teachers in the district.

As these changes unfold we will be working to ride the tide and continue to work with our current schools, and hopefully identify ways to add new schools to our program annually. Many changes are coming that will impact how we work in classrooms, in the community, and offer professional development to teachers; these changes will ultimately effect how we communicate those changes and our work with all of you.

Our blog will be under construction in the next few months to add more interactive features, archive our work of the past few years, and introduce our first LTP Community Project with Harding Middle School in the city’s Torresdale section with Philadelphia-based artists Kathryn Sclavi and Jebney Lewis. We CANNOT wait to begin the process of documenting and sharing this new community project and experience!!

We are also thrilled to announce that The Elsie Lee Garthwaite Memorial Foundation has awarded another year of funding to continue LTP in Philadelphia-area schools and neighborhoods. We are very grateful for their continued support of our program and work with school-age youth in our city.
