Photo Shoot Day for “Imagination Invasion from Planet Space!”

Hands down, this past Wednesday was THE BEST day I have had in the 8 years at my position working with students and managing art programs in K-12 schools. After a 6am wake-up call, much needed coffee and loading up my car with breakfast and lunch for the day, I headed to Harding Middle School for the official photo shoot of “Imagination Invasion from Planet Space: A Triple Feature.”

Joining myself, Kate and Jeb were L.A-based photographer William Lewis, photography assistants Les Rivera and Rebekah Flake, costumer Julia Poiesz, and make-up artists Marvella Chispe and Anastasia Balabanova.

Harding’s un-used library had been transformed the night before into a photo set, complete with changing areas, wardrobe racks, a make-up room and green screen. The students rotated in waves throughout the day, and were even joined on camera with teacher Kelly Ann Coughlin and Principal Calderone (an expected treat!)

As we speak final images are being processed and in the next few weeks will be sent to a group of Moore’s Graphic Design students who are competing to create the final poster graphics.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS because the final posters will be unveiled at Moore on Thursday, January 23rd during a public storytelling event from 11am-2pm with Young Playwrights of Philadelphia. The posters will be on view along with video and film still snippets from the process in Widener Memorial Foundation Gallery through January 27 before heading back to a permanent home at the school.
