Carmeen Hutchinson, a senior Interior Design major, was honored December 7, 2017, for her second place win in the 16th annual Jacobs Design Competition. Hutchinson received her award at a finalists ceremony at WeWork in Northern Liberties. Courtney Machamer '18 was also a finalist in the competition. 

The competition is open to all schools in the Philadelphia area that offer interior design. Some of the school that competed alongside Moore included Jefferson University, Harcum College and Drexel University.

Students were given a prompt to design a collaborative working space that included conference and meeting areas, flex-use areas, work areas, a coffee/gathering space, a cafe, and reception area. They had seven hours to design it.

As a second-place winner, Hutchinson won $3,500. 

Other students who competed and attended the ceremony were Autumn Davis '18, Arina Grey '18Amity Tanner '19 and Giovani Anggasta '19. Interior Design Department Chair Kathy Dethier and Professor Francine Martini also attended the ceremony.
