Lynne Horoschak, program director for Moore’s MA in Art Education program with an emphasis in special populations, has been named the Pennsylvania Art Educator of the Year for 2013-14 by the Pennsylvania Art Education Association (PAEA). Horoschak will be presented with the award on October 19, 2013 at the PAEA annual conference in Bethlehem, PA.

“I got an e-mail from the president of the PAEA, Mary Elizabeth Meir, saying to call her for good news,” Horoschak said. “I’m thinking it’s something special education, special conference related. So I was really surprised when I found out I had won this award. It is an honor for just doing my job. I’m very humbled to receive this award.”

Horoschak, who also won the PAEA Outstanding Higher Education Educator award in 2008, will be presenting at the conference with two of her graduate students. The title of the presentation is “Teachers as Researchers: Best Teaching Strategies for Students with Special Needs.”
