MOORE IS A COMMUNITY.
As summer comes to an end, I am writing to give you an update on our newly renovated Dining Hall, and to share important information about the Pope’s visit to Philadelphia.
IMPORTANT UPDATES FOR FALL 2015
Dining Hall Update
Pope Visit / World Meeting of Families
Travel will be very difficult during this time. Please be sure to make plans to leave Philadelphia as early in the week as possible. Please keep in mind that while the College has an attendance policy, students are permitted a certain number of absences in each class without penalty. We suggest that you are careful with your absences early in the semester in the event that your travel arrangements cause you to miss class.
Residence hall students: The Parkway and surrounding area will be very difficult to navigate from Friday, September 25 through Monday, September 28. While the residence halls will not completely close for fall break, we strongly suggest that students leave campus after their last class the week of September 21. Sartain Hall residents who cannot leave for the break will be housed in temporary accommodations in Stahl Hall. Sartain Hall will close completely at 12noon on Thursday, September 24, and will not reopen until 12noon on Monday, September 28. The dining hall will be closed. The last meal served will be brunch on Thursday, September 24, and the dining hall will re-open for dinner on Monday, September 28. Guests will not be permitted in any of the buildings between Thursday at noon and Monday at noon.
The City of Philadelphia is still working out many details and logistics for this event. As we become aware of new developments, we will be sure to share them with you. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Student Services (215-965-4040).
